How to Remove Moustache Wax
Moustache wax is a fantastic tool for training and styling your moustache but sometimes it is necessary to remove the wax and let those whiskers breathe for a day or two. We are often asked what the best method for washing out moustache wax is. See our tips below for the healthiest and safest tips on washing out that moustache wax.
6 Tips for Dewaxing Your Moustache
(adapted from our friend and moustache expert Mr. Stachetastic)
1. Warm the moustache with warm water, best if done in the shower.
2. Use a
Beard Shampoo or hair-friendly, clean-ingredient dish soap on the
waxed areas.
3. Let the shampoo or soap soak into your moustache. Don't wash out right away as the shampoo or soap will break down the wax on its own.
4. Lightly rinse out the
moustache making sure NOT to pull any hairs out. Repeat if necessary. With a stiffer wax like
Secondary, you may need to repeat 2-3 times.
5. Wash one more time with a Beard Shampoo.
Whether you are sporting a moustache by itself or rocking one with a beard, taking breaks from waxing your moustache will ensure that your moustache and skin on your upper lip is staying clean and conditioned. As mentioned above, moustache wax is a fantastic tool for training and styling your mustache. Just be sure to periodically add some moustache wax removal, cleaning, and oiling of your moustache to your
moustache care routine.
