One of our most requested products ever, Beard Shampoo, is finally here. What took us so long? Well, we wanted to make sure we got everything just right.
It would have been easy to take an existing shampoo formula from a generic manufacturer, slap our logo and the words “beard wash” on it and call it a day, but we didn’t want to phone this one in. We worked with our chemist to produce a shampoo specifically designed to maintain the oil balance of your hair and skin while still thoroughly cleaning your beard. And we call it a shampoo instead of a “wash” because we want everyone to know it’s safe for use on any and all hair.
It was important to us that we tackle the most prominent concerns men encounter when growing a beard: dryness, itching and flaking. All three can be traced back to a lack of moisture in the skin and hair, typically caused by an imbalance of natural oils. Harsh soaps and shampoos can break down oils unnecessarily, leading to dry brittle skin and hair prone to damage. Our Beard Shampoo is formulated to clean without stripping oils so that your face and beard stay hydrated.
Cleaning your beard regularly is important for more than just the obvious reasons. Dirt and debris can lead to clogged pores and ingrown hairs which can also affect the oil balance of the skin and hair. Sweat, food, smoke and drink in the moustache and beard can dry the hair out if left unattended, making routine cleaning a must.
It’s a tough but gentle approach reflected in our scent: an invigorating blend of bright aromas of spearmint and vetiver balanced with grounded notes of sage and myrrh. It’s a supremely clean scent and an excellent way to start your morning grooming routine. And because we use essential oils for our scents you can be assured that they will wear in comfortably and calmly.

With continued use you’ll notice your beard looking better and feeling softer. Can You Handlebar Beard Shampoo is the first step in building a better beard, and when used in conjunction with our Face Lotion and a Beard Oil or Beard Balm you may notice itch, dryness and flaking disappearing. It’s not a magic trick, it’s just the science of quality beard care.

Hey Theo,
Tim here. Thanks so much for checking out the blog and for the great questions! Our products are made for all types of people and beards. While our team is primarily caucasian, we have customers from many ethnic backgrounds, including black and asian men. The ingredients we use are thoughtfully chosen to make sure they work all types of skin and hair. The shampoo is full of ingredients that promote healthy skin and hair.
As far as testing goes we primarily tested on ourselves but since releasing it have heard nothing but great feedback from folks, again this definitely includes men with more coarse beard hair. We also have a “No Worries Guarantee” which means if the product isn’t what you expected or doesn’t give the expected results, we will replace it or refund you.
Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Tim

Hi,
Were the products made for caucasians and others who have softer, less brittle hair? Or are the products also suitable for black men and other men who share the similar feature of coarse, and difficulty growing hair in certain parts of the beard space.
Can you tell me what testings the product underwent that supporting whatever findings you made?
Thanks,
Theo

Hey Jeffrey,
Tim here. Thanks so much for purchasing the shampoo and oil. Great question!
The number of times you wash your beard comes down to personal preference but I’d recommend at least 2-3 times a week, no matter the length of your beard. This helps clear out any dead skin under your beard as well makes sure your beard is clean and hydrated.
For the beard oil, it is best to apply after you wash and towel dry your beard. Beard oil acts as a conditioning agent that will help rehydrated your beard and protect it as you go about your day.
For both the shampoo and oil, keep in mind that a little goes a long way so start small as you can always apply more if needed. Using a smaller amount helps the product last longer too.
Hope that helps!
Tim
